Shining Out a Beacon of Hope Through Poetry

I don’t know if it’s the continuous mudslinging in political ads, or the perpetually negative news nowadays, but I felt like I needed to look into and share something positive—and that’s when I found the Beacon of Hope poetry form.

This poetry form is considered a concrete or shape form. When it is center aligned it creates a shape similar to a light house.

BRIEF HISTORY

This is a newer poetry form. Christina Rose Jussaume, a poet from Massachusetts, created this form about seven years ago.

MUST HAVES

--Center-aligned.
--Three stanzas. The first is 6 lines. The second is three lines and the third stanza is twelve lines.
--Topic: spiritual or uplifting.
--Meter is syllabic in the following format:

1st stanza = six syllables per line
2nd stanza = twelve syllables each
3rd = eight syllables per line.

COULD HAVES or WHAT IS THE POET’S CHOICE IN ALL THIS?

--Any rhyme scheme, including no rhyme scheme.
