About This Newsletter

I started blogging a decade ago because I like blogging. Writing's a kind of lonely thing to do, and I liked the idea of demystifying the process because I loved it as a kid and teenager and as somebody who wanted desperately to write.
~ Neil Gaiman

It's been so amazing. I've always struggled with this barrier that I felt like I'd had up until blogging came along. Just one comment from somebody really sparks something in me. It doesn't need to be this huge war between me and the listeners anymore. I really thrive on that.
~ Imogen Heap

Letter from the editor

There has been a lot of talk about blogging this and blogging that, but mostly we've been looking at "The Soundtrack of Your LifeOpen in new Window. & "30-Day Blogging Challenge ON HIATUSOpen in new Window.. You see, there's so much to this site, so much it has to offer, that at times, it's hard to focus on writing. Random activities, contests, raffles, auctions, you name it, there's something like that going on.

If you're one of those people who likes to participate everywhere, who enters all possible contests, blogging may be too much for you. Then again, you might be blogging already. Who knows?!

In case you haven't gotten a chance to create a book item for blogging, you should. Back in the day, that used to be our only means of communication with each other - you know, before the all new and cool newsfeed came out. We kept track of each other, followed up to see what's going on in each others lives. That sort of thing. Now we post it on the newsfeed and you get to read it. Don't forget that little feature either. It can be quite handy.

Blogging, however long it's been around, is a fun thing to do to stretch that brain muscle. Don't you have those days where you watch your inspiration walk down the street hand in hand with your muse? Yep. They just walked out the door and they left you there all alone. Maybe one of them waved back at you? Who knows? All we know is that writer's block knocked on your door all happy to see you. Don't despair. Blogging can get you your old friends back.

When writing for the world to see and judge your writing, it can get rather lonesome. People don't have time to sit down and give you the review you need or want, or the genre isn't right for them. Whatever the case, the longer your writing, the less reviews you get. Am I right? Blogging is great for venting - let it out. It is your blog and as long as the rating fits, you can rant to your heart's desire. The good part of that is, you won't be alone! Nope. There are so many of us who have blogs just for that reason. Getting some fresh air in through what seems a one sided chat will work. People will stop by and read, agree or disagree, but you'll have someone to share your thoughts with, not just your writing.

Of course, if that's not enough, there are some of us crazy enough to create blogging challenges! It doesn't get better than that. You get to rant, vent, listen to and share your favorite music, and you get rewarded for it. Now, tell me that's not something you'd like to try? While the Soundtrackers sign up is closed, the "30-Day Blogging Challenge ON HIATUSOpen in new Window. is open to anyone during the month of February. Go try it! You never know when and where inspiration might hit.

'til next time!
~ Gaby *Witchhat*
