Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest is my lover among the young men. I delight to sit in his shade, and his fruit is sweet to my taste. He has taken me to the banquet hall, and his banner over me is love. Strengthen me with raisins, refresh me with apples, for I am faint with love. His left arm is under my head and his right arm embraces me.

The heart is the most common symbol of romantic love. Ancient cultures believed the human soul lived in the heart. Others thought it to be the source of emotion and intelligence. Some believed the heart embodied a man's truth, strength and nobility. The heart may be associated with love because the ancient Greeks believed it was the target of Eros, known as Cupid to the Romans. Anyone shot in the heart by one of Cupid's arrows would fall hopelessly in love. Because the heart is so closely linked to love, it's red color is thought to be the most romantic. I had fun looking up some interesting bits to put in here. What I found was a maze of websites dedicated to the subject.
Truly, love is an enduring and popular genre!

Great editorial on motivation, Puditat. These are very important questions! If the reader can't figure out the motivation, they're certainly not going to be interested in the story.

Teehee. Um, at a bit of a loss on this one, but I can only suggest that you have somewhere along the line subscribed to the romance/love newsletter, which is how it ended up in your email.
I had never considered it would take motivation to fall in love, but since you mentioned it I will surely determine my characters' motivation in the beginning because I think it will help me plot my story. Thank you.
