Letter from the editor

We find dragons in the mythologies and folklore of numerous countries and cultures across the Earth. The normal picture of a dragon is a huge fire breath reptile with a scaly hide, snake’s tail and the claws of a lion, but not all dragons have wings. In addition, some dragons are evil and others are good.

According to the website Here there be Dragons, http://www.draconian.com/home/frameset.htm, there are at least fourteen different species of dragons.

Western Dragons some can change their color and other shape.
Faerie Dragons are very small and have butterfly wings.

Hydras are dragons with several heads and necks; some hydras have wings.

Amphipteres do not have legs

Amphisbaenas have heads at both ends of their bodies (neck and tail).

Dragons without wings

Some Hydras do not have wings.
Drake Dragons breathe either flames or hail and snow.
Wyrms do not have legs.
Lindworms or Lindorms have two short legs.
Sea Serpents can live in both salt and fresh water.

LJPC - the tortoise Author Icon writes: Hi Snow. Thanks for a NL reminding all of us that even when things look dark, there really are things to be grateful for and many who are less fortunate than ourselves. I was touched. One question: Where did the fantasy in the Fantasy NL go? *Laugh*-- Laura
The fantasy got lost in the dark wood, but I’m turning on the lights.
