Letter from the editor

With Mother's Day only a few days away (at least in the United States), I got to thinking about ways I've seen Writing.Com used to honor others. I've seen birthday wishes, mournful thoughts, get well soon prayers, parties for just about every occasion, and even the re-telling of an exciting Writing.Com-related marriage proposal. I've seen forums created, emails sent out, contests started, fundraisers run, handles changed, static items written and much more.

Here are some I've found on a quick tour around the site:

Thanks for the How-To links. Two of them have just joined my favorites, so I can link them when a member gets lost looking for directions to create a group or see if this kind of item can work for them or not.

You're welcome. Glad that they were helpful and hopefully the links continue to help in the future.

A very impressive newsletter Tig! Thanks for the mention in your newsletter. I am actually going to use quite a few of these links for my upcoming contest, so thanks for scanning the site for us all!

Thank you for your compliment. Hopefully your contest runs (or ran) well. Also, thanks for the Newsletters Merit Badge! *Smile* I'm thrilled!

Hi, My entry level (free) doesn't allow me to enter contests. I don't know why I get the newsletter, but I enjoy seeing what's going on in the contest world on writing.com

Any member of Writing.Com is allowed to enter most of the contests on the site. The official contests have rules requiring a paid membership, but most others on the site do not.

For The Next Newsletter:
If you create any contests or activites in honor of someone (or something), submit it below. Please be sure to include a note to make it clear that this is your contest or activity honoring ___ (so I don't miss it when gathering links next month!) My next newsletter is set to come out June 4th and I will include some of the items.

Questions? Comments? Praise?:
I always love to hear what my readers have to say in response to my newsletters, so write in. *Smile*
