About This Newsletter

Hello everyone, I’m Samberine Everose and I'm here, one of the regular editors in the Romance/Love Topic of the WDC Newsletter, and just like I've been saying, I will not be tired in expressing my thankfulness to all the beautiful people here in this wonderful community of writers for not only helping us to improve our writings but giving us also encouragement and inspiration every day.*Smile*

I am fascinated by a love drug that I read about in an article, which has sparked my interest in observing and researching more about it. I have stated my thoughts and conclusions about it in my romance/love newsletter this week.

The Love Drug

We often hear that love is merely an emotion or feeling produced by the heart. However, after reading about the brain's role in producing love, my perspective changed, and I felt motivated to research further.

When I read an article about the chemicals and hormones produced by our brain, I became fascinated and eager to explore more. I concluded then that feelings, especially love, are generated by our brain through a chemical known as oxytocin(which I read from an article). This chemical then travels to the heart, allowing us to experience those emotions.

I concluded then that the source of love is not solely the heart; it also emerges from our brain. Yes, that’s correct—the brain produces a hormone or chemical that influences our feelings of love, while the heart merely experiences those emotions. The brain informs the heart of the emotions it will feel. However, the brain cannot produce this love hormone without certain enhancers.

Here are some ways to boost the production of this fascinating love drug:

1. Encouraging positive words-
I based this thought from what I've read in the Bible
Let no unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building up the one in need and bringing grace to those who listen.- 1 Thessalonians 5:11, because when we encourage others with positive words, we stimulate our brains to produce the love hormone.

2. Hugs
Hugs represent a form of intimacy and are pure acts that release the love hormone in our brains. When we hug others, it shows our sympathy and concern for them.

3. Foods that enhance this love chemical
Here are some foods that I believe enhance the love hormone and that I enjoy eating: apples, avocados, grapes, and bananas. You can read more about this in the article https://www.healthline.com/health/how-to-increase-oxytocin.

4. Looking for the goodness in others
I often feel uplifted when others remind me the beauty that they see in me—both physical and character traits. When we highlight someone's unique characteristics, we reinforce their identity. This is why God calls each of us by our own names, recognizing the unique identity He created for each one of us.

5. Spiritual uplifting through prayer and reading the Bible
This is my favorite love enhancer and booster, even though I still pray, I find myself reading the Bible less frequently lately due to my online studies and the many eBooks provided by my professor. However, nothing compares to the warmth, peace, love, and comfort I feel when I read the Bible. I’ve promised myself that once I finish my online studies now, I will return to reading the Bible regularly.

All these thoughts made me reflect on a verse from the Bible that emphasizes the importance of encouraging others because when we encourage others, we enhance our brain's ability to produce this love chemical and through here we are loving ourselves because we are expressing the truth and the purpose why we were created.(Romans 15:2)(Galatians 6:2)

As we are in the month of February, the traditional month of love, everyone should focus on spreading love by boosting and enhancing this chemical reflecting through our words and actions. Imagine how wonderful the world would be if spreading love were everyone's primary goal. *Heart*

Ask & Answer

Our Question for this week Newsletter:
Can I have your thoughts about this wonderful drug that I stated.

Our Question lastweek NL "Romance/Love Newsletter (January 29, 2025)Open in new Window. :
In your own opinion, do you love winter?, how can you cope up with its coldness?.

Yes and no to the cold. I like a cozy fire or heater and snuggling. I hate shivering or walking on icy surfaces. Now that I don't have to go to work everyday, I can stay under a blanket. But I think I'm becoming more sensitive to the cold since I don't go outside as much. ¬Pumpkin Ready for Spring

Well, since I live in Southern California it's not very cold. I used to not have an issue with the cold since I grew up in Wyoming where it gets below zero. I get cold easily now. My apartment doesn't have heat so I have been using a heated pad, a heated blanket and have two black cats that love to snuggle.¬Dawn Embers

In your own opinion, do you love winter? How can you cope up with its coldness?

I do not love winter but I live in an area that experiences all seasons. In winter I cope by getting dressed for bed earlier so that I'm nice and cozy before I actually get to bed. In addition, I relax with a good book and some coffee or hot chocolate. Although I do have to work, so I bundle up and try to be outside as little as possible.¬QPdoll
