How do you write?

I'll probably give away my age with this newsletter, but I often wonder if anyone writes by hand anymore? I did as a kid. When I was young, I used to write plays during the Summer. I had pages of handwritten plays in notebooks. I eventually moved on to poetry and then short stories, all written by hand.

When I was young, though, my grandfather had a typewriter, and I was obsessed with it! My little fingers were barely strong enough to press the keys down enough to actually type, but I loved it! Then when I was in high school, I got a word processor. Does anyone remember those? It had a tiny screen to see what I was typing and I had to be careful not to make a mistake because there was only so much eraser tape (I think it was called "correction tape.") This was how I wrote my first longer papers in school!

These days, I could write a whole story by hand! I learned to type in high school, and I never looked back. I can type a lot faster than I can write by hand, and now I don't seem to have the patience for writing by hand anymore! Sure, I still have short lists like grocery lists or lists of books or movies I'd like to see, but anything longer is done by keyboard.

I was wondering how you like to write? I was going to create a poll to ask, but I found someone else already made one! So answer here:

How do you like to write your stories? A pen? A keyboard? What?
Using a computer program, such as Word
Scrawling in the dirt with a stick
      In pen, on loose paper
      In pencil, on loose paper
      In pen, in a notebook
      In pencil, in a notebook
On paper first, then editing and final drafts on computer
First on computer, then print it and edit it on paper
      I'm giving up writing

And I'll link a few more polls about writing below!

Take care, and as always, keep on writing! *Quill*
