Reminders
I recently forgot about an online obligation for about two weeks.
I'm usually pretty good at remembering things, but sometimes it just slips my mind. There are several things we can do to set reminders so we stay on top of our responsibilities, like calendars (both paper and virtual), alarms, apps on our phones, even sticky notes! The key, as in many things, is knowing yourself and what will work for you.
Fortunately, most people are pretty forgiving about these things. Apologize and try to do better! I'm guilty of being hard on myself for forgetting things. I try to be perfect, but humans aren't perfect! We make mistakes, but we also try to do better. If you find that you keep forgetting or making mistakes, it could be time to reassess your time management. Maybe make some changes and lessen your load if you're overwhelmed with tasks. It can be hard to let things go or to admit that you've put too much on your plate sometimes. Don't be afraid to ask for help (Asking for a co-host or alternate judges can be a great way to help yourself out!)
I'm curious, what methods do you use to remind yourself to do things? I tend to embrace technology in most areas of my life, but I tend to use paper lists and calendars for reminders and responsibilities.
As always, keep on writing! |

My last newsletter, ("Contests & Activities Newsletter (November 17, 2021)" ), discussed reviews being kind but honest. Here is some feedback from last week's Newsletter readers:
I want to know the good, the indifferent, and the bad about whatever I write. I have often invited reviewers to be brutal and tear things apart. I truly want to know everything possible about the reviewer's experience as that person read my word art.

I think that's a great attitude! It can be hard to accept criticism, but it's important for growth, I think!
