I read this poem sometime in the past and loved it, but didn't have time to review it right then, so I flagged it for an anniversary review (meaning I saved the link to it in a special "June" file. ). I hope you enjoy this review as a celebration of your time here and find the review uplifting.

I hope you placed in the contest! This one feels like a winner to me. As a veteran myself, reading your poem made me feel appreciated and happy, and thankful for every other veteran that has served our Nation.

I could picture your town decorated in red, white and blue with flags lining the streets. I wondered if your town had a parade? Mine did, where I grew up, and does, where I live now.

My favorite stanza was the last, even though the first painted the most vivid picture. The last was full of positive feelings, wishes and hope, and made me the happiest.

I loved the whole poem that you wrote, and especially the ending. I pray for our country and suspect that you do too. I will pray a prayer for blessings on you and our country right now, before I continue this review.

I didn't notice any spelling or grammatical mistakes (or mistakes of any kind) in your patriotic / military poem.

Not related to your writing, if you wanted to change your genre or add two more (I think we're allowed three genres), it might net you more readers. Perhaps "military" or "holiday" or "cultural?"
