I enjoyed reading your spring chickens poem for the Wheelbarrow Poetry Contest.

I could totally relate to every aspect of your poem and am really glad that I already wrote mine before reading yours as I might have been influenced by it. I actually try to not review other competitors' poems / contest entries until after judging, but I figured it was better to get my I Write make up week done than stick to that personal rule. Though only because I aim to give your poem five stars... anything less and I'd have had to wait until someone else posted. I figure this can only help you so hopefully it's okay.


I don't remember (or maybe I never knew) where you live but we have the same spring things happening in our yards... birds, squirrels, bees, flowers, and all the fresh greenery. Unfortunately we also have the same / or at least kind of similar allergy issues. Whew, my nose and eyes are telling me that it sure is allergy season! But the beauty of spring is totally worth it, and you convey that well in your poem.


If I remember the contest's guidelines correctly, you followed them perfectly.


I love that you share a joy of springtime.

I didn't notice any mistakes of any kind in your poem.


Your poem was interesting to me, felt like it was coming straight from your own experiences, and made me want to read your next one.
