*PenB* First Impressions:

That was an intriguing and unique combination - dragons and spaceships. It’s not something I’ve ever come across or imagined, so I was interested to see how it would all pan out. You made it clear at the beginning that this was a single person space fighter (I imagined it like an X-wing fighter), so the readers didn’t need to wonder how a dragon would possibly attack a huge ship. I did wonder, however, where the dragon came from in this floating (floating in space?) kingdom as I couldn’t imagine him in space. The dragon trying to eat a spaceship presumably would be like swallowing a can of food whole.

There were some nice descriptions of the dragon and the city so it was easy to imagine the setting, but it didn’t slow down the action. Nine (interesting name, by the way) regretted volunteering to be the bait almost straight away, but he did his best to evade the dragon while at the same time making sure that his friend could capture him with the giant net. The readers didn’t get to know an awful lot about the two characters but it was enough.

*PenG* Suggestions:

The story was very polished and read very well. I only noticed one tiny error:

It's leathery, bat-like wings
You need “Its” without the apostrophe, the possessive form of the pronoun it, meaning belonging to it.

*PenP* Final Thoughts:

I got the feeling that this was part of a longer story. Or perhaps it should be. Not that it couldn’t stand on its own, but I was curious to know more about the characters and their world. There were some details you mentioned but never explained - the floating Kingdom of Maldar, for example, or the Wardon Empire who sent the dragon to terrorise them. It seemed like you knew this world quite well, anyway. I liked that Osto explained at the end what would happen to the dragon but it might have been a good idea to say what happened next - would they attack the other empire, or simply wait for them to send another dragon? Just a question I had as I got to the end. I enjoyed the read *Smile*
