Happy Writing.Com Anniversary month! I went to your port to find something to review and this poem caught my eye. As a veteran, I particularly enjoyed it.

I wondered if this was a sonnet or other kind of form poem? Either way, I liked the rhyming and thought it added to the poem in a positive way. If it is a form poem, you could enter it in the poetry contest that features traditional form poems. I forget the name of it? But it should be on the main contest listing in the poetry section.

My favorite line was: "Freedom is never won once and for all." That's so very true.

I wondered if you are also a veteran? Or if that is just the title of the poem? It's the perfect title for the poem, either way. Just curious.
