Totem Wolf [ASR] Native American Spirit Guide: Editor's Choice, WDC Anthology, 2012! |
Hi Ẃeβ࿚ẂỉԎḈĥ This review is a part of "Game of Thrones" [13+]. Overall Impression: What a beautiful poem! I understand why this was the editor's choice for an anthology. I think that what strikes me most is the combination of spirituality and realism. We aren't always ready to embrace the spiritual side of life, and of ourselves. Something may call to us, but we have to get on with the day-to-day demands that are placed upon us. That can cause us to miss out or later wish we'd been able to look into it at an earlier time, but it is what it is. That calling here is of a Totem Wolf, and accepting the wolf enriches the person's life. They find new meaning and joy when in nature, so even though there was that delay, what was found was worth the wait - better late than never. On the technical side of things, this poem reads well. It has a pleasant rhythm and flow. I liked that you opted for full punctuation. That enhanced the overall clarity and reading experience. I also appreciated that you allowed the capitalisation at the beginning of each line to depend upon the individual sentences within the piece. That perfected it. Suggestions: I only have one tiny suggestion, Webbie: the long suffering years of imperfections I think that 'long suffering' should be long-suffering. My Rating: This is a lovely, creative poem. I enjoyed the read. I did have one tiny suggestion, but I do not feel it should affect the rating. Therefore, I will give this item a 5 out of 5. It deserves it. Thank you for sharing your work.
