Hallo Krista is Taking a Break !*Smile*
I will be reviewing your work "Invalid Item for "Game of Thrones

*Dragon2* Content:

Written for the Writer's Cramp challenge, this is a short story that follows the journey of a mother and daughter on a weekend getaway that might be just what is needed to rekindle their fizzling bond.

*Dragon2* Pluses:

It's interesting to see the family dynamics with this one; where one would have expected the mother to be the fussy one, turns out it's the daughter who might need a really chill vacation!

From the opening paragraphs, you already set up the relationship that exists between both; where the daughter feels the mother does not respect her as an adult and perhaps still treats her like a child. She's surprised her mother chooses to join her on the trip, but is willing to go along with it, to perhaps prove a point.

The reason for the trip is actually quite different. While others choose to find warm and sunny places to relax, our main character wants to see as much rain, thunderstorm and lightning as possible. Unfortunately, not much of that happens and she gets more agitated and upset at a 'failed' trip. It doesn't help that her mother seems quite okay with not having to see any rain and even dares to prepare a picnic basket on their final day.

When she queries her mother on her decision to do such a thing and how she'd known the weather would be just fine, her mother whips out the trusty ol' Farmer’s Almanac. She had known all along about the weather patterns, but her fussy daughter would never have listened to her opinion. All is well, when both laugh over the silliness of the situation and the main character is reminded of childhood memories sharing her favourite cookies and sandwiches as they enjoy a picnic.

Perhaps mother does know best after all.
