A Long, Boring Day [13+] Writer's Cramp, May 7 2023: Grandpa Chaz throws a big party - and everyone is invited! |
HAPPY WDC ACCOUNT ANNIVERSARY FROM "Anniversary Reviews" First Impressions: So it seems that no one actually enjoyed the day! I’ve often wondered about this because whichever way you look at it, it doesn’t look like fun for anyone. Well, it’s fun to watch, on TV, at home with a cup of tea. For those involved, I would imagine it to be extremely unpleasant, and I’m sure they’re all glad when it’s over. And you captured that well in this story, although I always thought it would be stressful rather than boring, but either way, no one wanted to be there. The children came across particularly well because even though they are brought up in that family, they are still children and unpredictable by nature. Disappointingly, they behaved pretty well, both in real life and in the story (apart from Princess Charlotte poking her tongue out at her brother, but that was just funny). Suggestions: I didn’t notice any errors and I don’t have any suggestions for improvement. The story was very well written, and I especially liked how you let the readers into the head of each of the characters and explained why they found the day boring. I also thought your use of the last prompt was very well done - Harry waving from the balcony at the cleaner at the airport, not, as I would have expected, someone waving from the balcony at Buckingham Palace. To be fair, the prompts were quite specific and didn’t give you a lot of leeway, but you made good use of that one, and the ‘family jewels’ as well Final Thoughts: There are some parts that I could actually imagine happening on that day. Royal or not, they are people and considering everything that has been going on in their family, it wouldn’t surprise me if they had some of those conversations. I enjoyed the read! My review has been submitted for consideration in "Good Deeds Get CASH!" .
