Pearl of Wisdom - a Collage Poem [E] made of phrases ripped out of the Woman's Weekly |
"Game of Thrones" "The Iron Bank of Braavos" A Review from "The Iron Bank of Braavos" ! Hi Cappucine My name is Lyn, I am one of the sly foxes. Title: Pearl of Wisdom First Impression: Yay, one of my favorite ways to create poems. Yours came from Woman's Weekly and I love to take mine from the New York Times. I'm curious did you physically spread the phrases out on a table to create or did you choose lines from a virtual edition of the publication. I take all the cut out headlines and move them around over a couple of days until I'm satisfied with the flow and word choices. What needs your attention: The poem is a free style form so it's not held to any particular form so it is what it is. What part I liked best: The third stanza is my favorite. I get so tired of being told how to manage my well-being if only there was effortless well-being maybe people would stop trying to intervene in my health choices. Overall impression: I'm happy to discover another found poetry writer here on WDC. The lines flow smoothly from one to the next and build upon each other. The word choices fit the title very well. I've read a lot of poems where the title was questionable, this is perfect.
