Hallo!
I visited your portfolio because it's your WDC Anniversary!
This poem brings out the wistfulness felt by someone whose family is scattered and who misses the traditions once enjoyed. I think anyone who has faced this change would relate. I relate it to the festivals we celebrate in my culture, especially Rakshabandhan and Ganesh Chaturthi.
The rhyme scheme, verse structure and layout of the page work well to enhance the impact of your words. I would suggest maybe a bit of colour to the text.
Also, the last line, the feeling of good cheer, came a little out of context to me. It was a bit sudden why the emotion changed from nostalgia to cheer. Maybe a bit of tweaking there ... ? (You've said in the brief description that it's shared with grandkids, but that is obscured in the poem itself.)
Thanks for sharing this poem!
Happy WDC Anniversary!
