Flying Joe [E] Joe takes an unexpected trip |
HAPPY WDC ACCOUNT ANNIVERSARY FROM "Anniversary Reviews" And a happy anniversary from me too. What a wonderful story, but I feel just a little bit cheated. I wanted the magic to continue, not to be given a logical reason for it. You did such a good job of conveying the sense of flying, the piece blossomed into a world of new possibilities that was quite enticing. Ah well, back to reality. You can write, sir. This piece is expertly crafted and delivers a powerful impact as a result. Description is so clear that the reader forms a picture in the mind that draws him into the narrative. This is probably the cause of my disappointment at the denouement - I was enjoying it so much. But not that the quality is a fault. With skills like yours, you have nothing to fear in the writing world. Consider this, however: It was Douglas Adams who supplied the initial spark of the idea for this story. You've given us a reason why the notion might work in reality, but what if you were to allow it to continue into fantasy? I think there may be another story entirely, made possible by this beginning. In fact, if you don't do it, I'm sorely tempted to do it myself. It's right up my street, after all. Anyway, kudos on a delightful little story - you have brightened my day. And, as they say in WDC, write on! My review has been submitted for consideration in "Good Deeds Get CASH!" .
