This is sad but beautiful story. I like how you contrast the two words. I enjoy your descriptions and the point of view. Some lines seems poetic to me "You were my light, my beacon that guided my ship to safe waters, and my candle that flickered in the darkness."
I like the senses and emotions portrayed, and it looks great.
