A nice discussion on childhood fears, and how they can last into adulthood. My grandpa (always a good student) used to dream about failing in his BA exam when he was sixty -- that is, about forty years after he had taken and passed the exam! I still get dreams about doing badly in school too, though I was a good student as well.

I must admit I've outgrown the 'monster' fear, though. For me, it wasn't 'monster', it was 'something seen on TV'. My parents, being anti-TV, didn't get us one till long after my classmates had one. So my classmates would delight in telling me the scary stuff they saw happen on TV, knowing I couldn't clarify it anywhere. But I think things were okay after we got a TV, thank goodness my uncle wanted to upgrade and gave us his old one. My legs do dangle over the side of the bed most nights these days.

Well, there, I've blabbed on about fears, responding to the 'inside' of the writing. Now for the 'outside'. Well, being myopic, I'd only say - line-spacing and font size, for easier reading, please! Also, though it's a style choice (and you can ignore it), I'd have liked to see some emoticons *Delight* in places where you lighten the mood.
