Hello, Hullabaloo! Noticed bobturn plugged this on the Newsfeed so I had to check it out. Glad I did too! I think this is more of an ‘account’ or a ‘scene’ than it is a story, but I still like how you told it. The descriptions of your character’s fear stood out the most in this, and you certainly didn’t pull any punches as the character tried to make their way to the light switch. That’s about arachnophobic as you can get! The ending sure wasn’t what I was expecting, either. First the character can’t sleep from fear, and then after going through all that and dispersing of the problem, now they can’t sleep because of guilt and remorse? What irony! Comments and suggestions: ‘And with that thought come more terrifying images.(.) ‘feeding your fear like a saline drip’ (cool simile!) Kee ponw ritin gon, Hullabaloo! Stay safe and healthy, and have a great weekend! PS-My grandmother, who raised me for the most part, always said that if you killed a spider it would rain for 7 days! So unless you’re trapped in a dessert or going through a major drought, don’t kill spiders! Besides, think of all those flies and mosquitoes they get rid of for us with their webs!
