I enjoyed reading your poetic contribution to the Shadows and Light Contest. I especially loved the ending for it's irony and how it tied in to your first stanza. Great way to finish the poem.

Your poem is well done, flows nicely and evoked strong feelings. I used to watch old movies with my mom. I don't think we watched Casablanca but we did watch other Bogart films.

Your poem reminded me of my shock when I learned that he didn't win an Oscar for that stunning performance and that I was even more surprised that someone I'd never heard of had won instead.

My favorite line was: "movie magic brings him to me" because that captures the beauty of cinema. We can experience things before our time and relive favorite childhood stars even if they passed before us.

I liked how you structured your poem.

I didn't notice any mistakes of any kind in your poem.
