Wow, this poem is powerful. Your emotion hits home like a sledgehammer - truly. I have known people in this situation, and it is so devastating how the power of it grips them. I'm glad you've found an outlet and something to focus your attentions on. I'm very glad you were able to move beyond this moment in your history, but still have the courage to share this poem. I also read in another of you items that your dream of becoming a doctor fell through. I'm terribly sorry to hear that, but I hope you've found peace with it. I understand you put in a lot of work to get to that point (16 years?), so I can see how that would be absolutely devastating.

My favorite lines in your poem were the last two: "So it's one or the other - / The cure or the fix." Your emotion is so real. I cannot comment on anything related to the structure/format of your writing as it is purely a bearing of your soul. For the emotion of this poem, it is certainly 5 stars.
