Title: Voices

First Impression: The first paragraph hooked me with the mother-daughter connection.

What needs your attention: I found no technical problems or anything else that needs your attention.

What part I liked best: I like the way the author compares and contrasts the differences and similarities between three generations of woman.

Overall impression: In this essay the author discusses a series of interviews she had with her mother which shows how actions are passed from generation to generation. The author moves the narrative forward at a good pace while telling what she discovered about her family, especially her mother and grandmother, and herself. This essay emphasizes that certain behavioral patterns are handed down from generation to generation. I found this essay intriguing and thought provoking because it looked at the women of one family, but the conclusions can be applied to grandmothers, daughters, and granddaughters across the world. Another thing I got from this essay is that we need to look at the our own actions and thoughts to determine which are learned from our parents. I enjoyed reading this intriguing essay. Write on.
