Title: Flavor For The Feast

First Impression: The first stanza of this free verse poem hooked me with Emotions mix.

What needs your attention: I encountered no distractions or anything else in this poem which needs your attention.

What part I liked best: I had a difficult time choosing my favorite stanza and line because each stanza has a line in it the caught and held my attention. I like the last stanza because it climaxes the poem's plot with a surprise. I did not expect the poem to end without guest at the table. The last stanza was not disappointing because it fit the plot of the poem. I enjoyed reading this thought provoking poem. I also like the note after the poem because I did not know what garlic people were.

Overall impression: This thought provoking poem uses cooking a meal as a metaphor for the interaction between friends and family. The first stanza establishes the form, theme, and plot of the poem. The rhythm moves the poem's narrative and plot forward at a good pace. The voice used in this poem is a recipe voice which cooks use to tell other people how to make a specific dish. Write on.
