Title: Impious Hearts

First Impression: The first paragraph hooked me with slipstream technology. Captain Hiram Novak, the commander of the Interstellar vessel Yanlai, is surveying habitable planets and has come upon a mystery.

What needs your attention: I found no technical problems or anything else that needs your attention. I suggest using this story as the introduction or first chapter of a novel dealing with what happened to the crew of the Yanlai on the surface of the planet.

What part I liked best: I like Captain Novak because he was an intriguing and sympathetic character. I also like the description of the technology on the Yanlai because it was written as part of the story's action. Another thing I like is the climax because it suggested there could be more to the story of the crew.

Overall impression: The descriptions are part of the action and move the plot forward at a good pace. The interaction among the crew built the suspense and revealed their personalities. I enjoyed reading this exciting story because the action kept me focused on the plot which flowed smoothly from the beginning to the climax. Write on.
