Scene/Setting: We are taken on a tour of the different seasons in South Asia. there is Summer, Rainy, Autumn, Fall, Winter and Spring. Summer is the time of growth, especially fruits of all kinds. Summer is also the time of droughts. Ponds, canals and sometimes the rivers dry up. Power can be cut to concerve energy around the area. The Rainy season, brings heavy rainfall. This time of the year refills the rivers, ponds and fields with life giving water. There are floods which can be dangerous. Fish become abundant and flowering aquatic plants bloom. The author likes the sound of the rain. She says it sounds like a melodious symphony. Autumn is the next season. This is the season where the crops have grown and the harvest of the rice begins. There is a cool wind and flowers are sprinkled over the land. Fall comes on the heels of Autumn. This is the main harvest season. The author says it is not too hot or too cold. It is a plentiful season. The author also thinks the dew-drops on the grass make it look like pearls have been spread around the ground. Winter follows Fall. The season is could but not to an extreme, which is because the northern wind blows down. Even during this time of year different vegetables grow. The fields are covered with sweet smelling mustard flowers. Special breads are cooked and the juice of the dates is collected to drink. The last season is Spring. In South Asia it is called the king of seasons. Gentle breezes blow and there is a lot of color and fragrances around. Song birds and Cuckoo's sing as they hide behind the new green leaves of the trees. The author finishes her essay with how the seasons are changing. There is a dryness where there should be rain.
