WDC 15th Birthday Reviews Greetings Once In a Red Moon My name is ~LifeLessons~ and I have come across this short story in random reviews. I was caught up in the picture and the title drew me to read on. First Impression Wow! That is some great imagination! I wrote a poem of the Blood Moon but this story held a great tale! Could you imagine your birthday going so wrong. Only once in a blood moon will there be a death for new births. Quite a myth and your story held up well to the intentions of portraying a fantasy story. Loved it! Structure The exposition of this story was perfect. A nice introduction to the character and working in the background through dialogue. The narrator holds a steady pace while heading into the conflict and plot of the story. A rising conflict when the two find themselves in another part of the world. Falling action leads to a great ending. Not a happy ending, but it wouldn't be a thriller if it did right? I saw no mistakes in grammar or punctuation. I could have been too caught up in the story and didn't notice, so they couldn't have been a big deal. I loved the characters and the relationship between Dave and Jen. It sounds like she has put up with his overworked imagination for some time and is brought to light when his interests of the blood moon become to surface. Over All thoughts A great story. Written well and held my attention from beginning to end. You showed me a story that brought me to the scene. I loved that part. Bringing our stories to life is always the hardest thing to do. Thanks for sharing this piece! I hope you are enjoying the week of festivities here on the site!! ~LL~
