Hi, HAPPY 7th! WDC ACCOUNT ANNIVERSARY FROM "Anniversary Reviews" Overall Impression When I come across a story like this, written years ago, I sit marveling. Wondering if the ease that unrolls the plot came with time and patience, or a strike of inspiration. Parts of it are prosy, but never overdone. Setting/Plot/Characters I liked how the story began small, the focus on a tiny insect. When it broadened to encompass those seven figures, I fretted that I might be reading a fantasy story, which is not something I enjoy. But your words carried me forward, and I relaxed. The title puzzled me, and its meaning only became clear after I finished reading. There's a feeling of dark romance, a sort of sick elegance in the decadence of death and waste of lives. The entire reading experience is visceral. Each scene created vivid, but unpleasant images in my mind. You placed me on that battlefield. The plot moved back into the past and forward again, the transition seamless. The small breaks in the action further enhanced the plot. My heart broke over the down-turned picture of Kirkbridge. Seems you've been gone awhile. Sometimes, anniversary reviews bring members back. Won't you consider returning? You have a gift to share.
