Naraku shook his head as he saw the sleeping hanyou. He was so simple, yet there were some things about the half dog demon that even astounded Naraku.
What kept Inuyasha going? Why was he so persistant in defeating him? His hands recoiled as he got somewhat of a realization.
Naraku's white baboon fur robes rose and cascaded in the mist as he took off. He couldn't keep on trying to forcefully defeat Inuyasha, that was a given if he wanted to ensure an effortless victory against the hanyou. Instead of striking his body, Naraku knew that he had to destroy what kept his body going... his heart.
Yes, there was Inuyasha's weakness, his delicate, feeble, human heart. He could love, and he was consumed with love at times, and love was his priority. Could his love for his human companions and his desire to protect them from danger possibly be his major pulsation of power and his source of determination?
Even stronger than that would be his personal feelings for that Kagome girl who was remarkably spiritually gifted, no matter how much they squabbled with each other. Together they posed a somewhat formidable force, and if their relationship died, certainly they would both be devistated. If there was only a way he could sever that affectionate connection they had with each other.
And he knew that there was a way that he could do so. He would destroy their main source of communication between each other, thus ultimately killing their intimateness. He would take Inuyasha's ability to talk and cause it to be useless, or at least, make him avoid talking, for if he destroyed the hanyou's vocal chords, a hostile attack would certainly be sensed.
No, Naraku would make Inuyasha not want to talk to Kagome or anyone else any more. How could this be achieved? He would cast a spell on Inuyasha that would penalize the half demon for every word he spoke... he would gain a substantial amount of weight, and surely it would begin to pack onto the helpless demon if he resisted the spell, eventually making him large, fat, heavy, and slow- an easy target and a weak fighter. Surely Kagome would become disgusted with Inuyasha becoming out of shape and the twosome's relationship would begin to falter, causing instability, and thus giving Naraku the upper hand.
It was all perfect. Withdrawing his hands from his cloak, Naraku commenced in casting the spell on Inuyasha's undergarments.
