Paul goes on running, even though the footfalls are likely to knock him over just from the shock-wave; as it seems escape is impossible one of the footfalls causes him to fall down a gargantuan hole in the ground. Fortunately the light is somehow filtering in through the soil, giving the cave a sort of twilighty atmosphere.
Just then more footfalls come from within the cave, curiousity getting the better of him Paul goes to investigate. Then a colossal rabbit shows his/herself, towering over Paul, he cowers as this rabbit looks down at him; then the rabbit's mighty muzzle descends towards Paul, he lets out a squeak of fear. The giant rabbit only sniffs at him, followed by picking him up in his/her teeth and carrying him deeper into the warren.
