What Now?

Damian was practically running away from Ron and Joe within a few minutes, and his eyes quickly spied a shaded area beside a large rock further down the beach, where no one was around. Damian made a beeline for the rock and quickly settled into the shade.
The moment he sat down, Damian held out his hand in front of him and opened it. There, kneeling in his palm, looking dazed, was his three-inch friend, Jim. Damian could hardly believe it. Just looking at the tiny man filled him with a strange childlike glee, and he let out a little giggle, which sounded particularly strange coming from his huge, musclebound football player.
For Jim's part, he didn't know what was going on or what to do. One minute he was lying out on the beach, the next he was suddenly being grabbed by one of his buddies and carried away. Now as he sat in his friend's palm, staring up at the god-like giant whose face had peculiarly seemed to take on a certain boyish wonder all of a sudden, he found himself trembling in fright. He didn't know why it should be so; this was one of his best friends, but already Jim was beginning to wonder how much he could truly rely on his friends now that he had been changed...
