"What? I couldn't hear you." She leaned closer so she might hear him better.
He cleared his throat and began, "This wonderful old hotel on a beautiful hawaiian island. Mr. Phillips told me many wonderful stories of his grandparents running it and he said he stayed there every summer until he went off to college."
He handed her a picture of the most run down dump she'd ever laid her eyes on! It was a three story building with the shutters hanging at odd angles, paint peeling off in large ribbons and thousands of palm fronds scattered everywhere. Surely there had been a hurricane or some natural disaster for it to look like that.
The place was not even habitable and yet it was to be her only home. She stomped her feet and began to cry. A good tantrum always made her feel better. She composed herself, thanked the lawyer and went back to her last night in a hotel room, they would toss her in the streets tommorow.
She smeared cold cream on her face and was grateful the old hotel had also come with the plane fare to get there. She looked at her green face in the mirror.
"You think you've gotten the best of me Ryan Phillips? I'll make that place the best hotel in Hauo, Huoo.....oh whatever it is!"
