Why Did Tim Cross The Road?

You've got a grip on the shoelace; there's no tellin' when another bus will be by at this time of day. So grimacing, you pull yourself bit-by-bit up the lace, until you've managed to get off the ground. Now you just whip occasionally into the side of the shoe, rather than against the ground.

The girls walk across the street nonchalantly, and presently, you're at the other side. Do you drop off the shoe now (even though it's still in motion), or wait for the girl to stop for a minute?
