You prepare yourself for the ride.

You didn't prepare yourself enough.

The lurching motions make you violently sick several times, and you are tossed about on the surface of the shoe like a pebble on a volcano.

Through the blurring, pounding and pain, you think that you can make out where the man is heading. Towards the English department.
