You can hardly wait for Carly to lower her hand to the couch so that you can get off. But your thinking has been too naive as chance hardly ever is so understanding.
As Carly slowly and carefully lowers her hand, so as not to drop you, Amanda suddenly leans forward in order to get a bag of chips from a pile of goodies lying there between Julie and Brianna. Having failed to notice Carly's hand, she hits it, pushing it away.
"Oops, sorry."
To Amanda and Carly, this isn't a big deal, but to you it is a catastrophic accident. The sudden movement of the hand not only makes your stomach jump, it does actually catapult you from Carly's hand high into the air.
You flail your arms in a futile attempt to influence your flight or at least keep yourself from rotating as your spinning through the air. At one moment, you are facing the ceiling, at another you see Carly, obviously unsuccessfully trying to see where you went, at yet another you see Julie and Brianna getting bigger and bigger as you head straight for them. All you can do is hope that you are really invincible or that you at least hit something soft.
