Mr. Pots is a big fat guy, with a huge gut that threatens to burst out of his white cook’s uniform, and with his gruff voice and huge, ham-like hands he seems quite threatening as he offers Matt a “special treatment for new students”. Matt’s no dummy - he’s heard about hazing rituals at private schools, and he guesses that this “cook” must be in on them. Abandoning his suitcases in front of the receptionist’s counter, he turns quickly and bolts for the outer door of the school office. “Help!” he shouts once as he heads out the door, then realises that calling for help while he’s still inside the school will probably only get the wrong kind of attention. Thanks to his girth, Matt is not a very good runner - especially not in the dress shoes his Dad made him wear for this first day - but he pounds down the hallway, his heavy footsteps echoing on the old wood floors. He dares a brief glimpse behind him, and sees the cook standing in the hallway by the office door, hands on his hips. Matt looks forward again to see two of the biggest, fattest teenage boys he has ever laid eyes on blocking the door. They’re wearing navy blue shorts and vast dark blue t-shirts with white lettering on them. As Matt gets nearer he can see that it reads:
