Dauphin groaned, trying to get up. A sudden pain in her collarbone made her gasp loudly in agony and drop to the thin blankets. The sounds of running footsteps approached and the door opened. "Oh! Are you okay? Do you hurt?" A female voice said, and Dauphin looked to see a blue-haired girl standing beside the makeshift bed, holding a cup of what she presumed was tea. The weird thing about the girl was her ears. They were about eight inches long, ended in a point, and went down wards. Her eyes were a clear blue, and she wore a crimson headband. "I hurt... my collarbone... where am I?" Dauphin said hoarsely.
"My name is Haruka, and you are in my house. I'm sorry about the mess. Here, I made the tea for when you woke up. It has some pain-relief herbs. They might not make it better, but they'll take the pain away for a while." The girl, Haruka, said softly, before placing the teacup next to Dauphin and grabbing a few flat pillows, propping them up behind her so she could drink easily. She forced the teacup into her hands and said, "I am really truly sorry..."
Dauphin quirked an eyebrow. 'What was she sorry for?' she thought, and Haruka, as if seeing the question in her eyes, said softly, "Your brother is dead. My sister, one of the royal army soldiers, set up a magic barrier. His wings were destroyed and he plummeted. I couldn't save him." Haruka looked down sadly at that, and Dauphin would of started to cry, but she saw another person walk into the room.
"Haru~! You have to go and play your victory songs~!" A masculine, but still slightly feminine, voice sang. Dauphin looked over at him. He had long emerald green hair, and ears like Haruka's. He wore, strangely, a white dress.
"Ah! I almost forgot! Oh, this is Seth! He'll look after you when I am gone, okay?" Haruka said and didn't wait for an answer. She was gathering up papers from a rickety old drawer and rushing out of the room.
