It’s been one month since my body finally decided to start puberty, and now it’s like it’s making up for lost time. I swear, I’ve been growing overnight.
I measured myself this morning and guess what? I’m 4’2 now. FOUR-TWO. That means I grew six inches in a month! Do you even know how crazy that is? At this rate, I’ll pass Hillary in no time! (Okay, maybe not, but let me dream.)
And it’s not just my height. My clothes are getting tighter, my chest is actually noticeable now, and my mom had to take me shopping for new bras—REAL bras, not the flat training ones I had before. I didn’t think I’d ever get to this point, but here I am, staring in the mirror and actually seeing a difference.
Even my face looks different. Mom said I have a more “mature” look now. I don’t know what that means exactly, but I’ll take it. Anything is better than looking like a little kid.
Hillary, of course, is shocked. She keeps looking at me like I’m some kind of science experiment. “What is happening to you?” she asked yesterday. “You’re growing way too fast. It’s kind of freaky.” HA! She’s just mad that she can’t call me tiny forever.
I mean, don’t get me wrong—she’s still taller than me. For now. But for the first time ever, I actually feel like I’m catching up. Before, I was stuck in place while she raced ahead. Now, I’m finally moving forward, and honestly? It feels amazing.
Dad joked that I should slow down before I grow taller than him. (Yeah, right, Dad. That’s not happening.) But Mom says this is just my body making up for lost time. It’s like all the growth I should have had over the past two years is happening all at once.
I’m not complaining. I’ve waited so long for this. And now that it’s here, I’m going to enjoy every second of it.
I don’t know how much more I’ll grow, but for once in my life, I’m excited to find out.
