A Medusa: The old story humans tell of Perseus, the Greek Hero was actually a twisted version of a story told among the Medusa, or Medusae for a plural. While it’s true her gaze can turn men to stone, it’s not out of malice. It’s how they reproduce to create more of their kind. Over time, the stone body reshapes into another Medusa. An exclusively female race, the new Medusa also deages in her transformation, ending the transformation in the form of a teenage Medusa. Now immune to the petrification that had kept them imprisoned, their skin slowly unpetrifies. Unscrupulous Medusae might sculpt the form of her new “daughter” to her desires, but the daughter keeps their original mind, though her snake hair each has their own brains and can influence her if she’s not careful.
Centaur: Half human, half horse, best of both. What’s not to like?
Dragon: Draconic myths greatly exaggerate what is a rather peaceful race. Many of them are smiths that work alongside dwarves to create great works. When roused to anger, they are very dangerous. Their breath weapons can age you up or down, and even send you physically backwards or forwards in time. This is the true secret of the dwarves metal shaping prowess and extended lifespans: working closely with dragons who have limited control over time mean they can learn a lifetime of metal work in just a week or two.
Dwarf: Short. Unmatched craftsmen. Both males and females have beards.
