Chapter #4

A Long-Delayed Day with Your Aunt (Part Two)

    by: NeoPhoenixStriker Author IconMail Icon
When The Great Shrinking happened, the entire world was united in confusion, fear, and apprehension about how to move on from such a dramatic and sudden event. But in the following years, as the dust settled, things became more stable, but also drastically more varied. Entire countries began forming their own identities in terms of how they thought about, treated, and reacted towards tinies.

The United States was pretty varied but ultimately tame-ish, caught in a struggle between the CTC and the FTTF and other pro-tiny opponents. France came to deem all tinies as objects, stripping any tiny within its borders of rights, slapping them with usage licenses, and divvying them out. Russia was similar, though all affected belonged to the government and were taken away to special facilities when not in use, and then delegated out across the country by the higher-ups digression. Brazil found near-about 90% of its entire male population shrinking, and tinies quickly became beloved treasured pets and partners, sought out with almost feverishly lustful zeal by the now extremely dominant female-and-unaffected population.

Mexico was an entirely different beast.

On a surface level, Mexico looked like a utopia for tinies. There was zero CTC presence, and the total number of unaffected who hated tinies within its borders was less than 1%. Tinies were, on paper, treated with respect. No one looked at affected like they were any different from non-shrunken human beings. There was total unity in terms of the unaffected and affected population getting along. No one was treated differently, no one was thought of as being different, and the differences that were acknowledged (no one just straight-up pretending like tinies weren't squishing or stretchy) were celebrated instead of denigrated. In theory, a utopia.

The reality was quite different, as this mindset was taken to its logical extreme.

The unaffected population didn't view or treat tinies as different because of their size. This meant that the entire country had ZERO affected-sized facilities or amenities. The country had ZERO tiny-safe policies or guidelines. The country had ZERO tiny-only safe boundaries or places to visit. And alongside this extremely-specific way of viewing and treating tinies, the unaffected population came to view tinies and their unique properties as nothing noteworthy, especially extending this to favors. What this meant was that a giantess would consider a friend asking her to borrow her car as equivalent to her needing to 'borrow' a nearby tiny to mold into an insole for a few days. The exchange would be completely and irrevocably amiable and healthy in her eyes. No malice, no cruelty, no sadism, not even any intentional disrespect for the tiny's boundaries or well-being.

After all, in the giantess' eyes, they practically weren't a tiny, right? She didn't think of them any differently than her normal-sized peers, after all. She had a car, the tiny had a squishy body. It was just a little trait in relation to the favor, right? Not a difference that actually mattered, right? And that is what the giantess would think the entire time she wore that tiny she was 'borrowing' (often without asking) as an insole, not a single scrap of her soul thinking anything was wrong or out of the ordinary.

So Mexico could seem like a paradise, but while it was leagues better than countries like France and Russia, it was anything but utopia to tinies within its borders. It was a country filled with happy-go-lucky friendly giantesses trained to not think about tinies as being different (and thus not checking their feet before walking, not glancing at seats before sitting, etc.), and just presume the equivalent-exchange of 'favors' that were actually wildly unbalanced against affected.

Knowing this (and having spent many years possessing a similar mindset), your mom left for the United States to give birth and raise you. The idea of seeing her daughter treated like all other tinies in her home country was too much for her. So you actually lived your entire life in the States, though your mother did teach you to fluently speak Spanish. And you did spend a decent amount of time in Mexico, as your mother would frequently take trips with you to visit her mother (your grandmother) and also Alejandra and Inez. Elaine kept an eagle-eye on you the entire time during those trips, never letting you leave her sight (or more accurately in most cases, the warm embrace of her bosom). The trips grew more infrequent as Elaine's workload back in Maryland picked up, however.

The next big change would happen your grandmother passed away from illness. Her passing shattered Alejandra, and she proceeded to make the extremely dumb decision of burying her pain in another ill-guided relationship. This relationship bore the fruit that came to be named Carmine, and that man also eventually ghosted Alejandra. Thankfully, Alejandra's little art hobby exploded into an actually sensationally lucrative career at this point when a well-known art critic stumbled upon her work and reviewed it favorably, so Alejandra was set money-wise to raise her two daughters. Sadly, this income boost also fed into Alejandra's worst habits, and her carefree, do-whatever-and-ignore-the-consequences attitude returned in full-force. Worse, she wasted no time instilling this same attitude into Carmine while raising her.

Similar to what Elaine had once done, a pre-teen Inez found herself having to mother her own mother, as Alejandra's flights of fancy found herself more often than not spending more time luxuriously enjoying life instead of things like remembering to buy groceries, or paying bills on time. It matured Inez rapidly, and it also gave her a deep distaste for people who couldn't take care of themselves or show their strength. She never outright stopped loving her mother or her younger sister (even as Carmine evolved Alejandra's already bad traits and made them ten times worse by growing a planet-sized ego and foul-mouthed narcissism as she herself entered her pre-teens), but Inez definitely grew into a cold and emotionally walled-off young woman.

Alejandra had had Inez when she was eighteen, and Carmine eight years later. When her daughters were sixteen and eight, respectively, Alejandra finally couldn't stand being separated from Elaine by such a far distance anymore, and so she moved up to Maryland too. She found a rather extravagant house about two hours away from where your mother and you lived, and from that moment on became a more frequent presence in your life. Not someone you interacted with daily or anything, but once or twice a month you began to see Aunt Alejandra and your two cousins, which was a huge step up from the four-to-five times a year it had been previously.

And, of course, those early dynamics held true quickly and effortlessly. Inez came to believe that it was her duty to strength you through countless merciless tests (no doubt inspired by her years mothering everyone around her, and being let down by others not picking up the slack), Carmine apparently hated you and loved screwing with you (you still weren't 100% sure where her animosity came from), and Alejandra doted on you constantly. And by 'doted', it was more like she'd squished and crush you constantly with her immense curves (she was an Estrada woman after all, and Inez and Carmine had to have gotten their killer curves from somewhere) and laidback careless attitude, or otherwise jumped to assumptions about little favors that always left you high and dry, and Alejandra happy and laughing. She loved you, of course, but in the ways indicative of her Mexico roots.

The last big change came when Elaine passed away when you were thirty. You'd actually lived in the same house your entire life, and after graduating college and marrying Brinley, your new wife had moved into that house with you. It was the house you still had, your mom leaving everything to you in her will. The pain of losing her was great, but you aspired to be just as nice, forgiving, and selfless a woman as she had been, as she'd raised you to be, in her honor.

Alejandra, meanwhile, eventually abdicated her big home to her daughters, choosing to instead buy a spacious apartment to live in and continue her artistic works. And it was that big home that got hit hard by the storms and flooded, prompting Inez to seek you out for help. Embodying your mother's greatest strength (and weakness, considering the chaos that bad been wrought ever since you said 'yes') you invited your cousins to live with you, and that's where they'd been for the past month. It wasn't like Alejandra's apartment (spacious though it was) had enough room to house multiple people for a prolonged period of time, after all.

But it could certainly be host to four unaffected beauties and your beleaguered tiny self for a day...
