Maria began creeping out to enact her plan to swap the devices, silently walking the hall, when her mother stepped out, hands on her hips. It had been some time since the drained, meek woman had displayed any sort of control, but right now she had a stern gaze set on Maria. "Young lady, what are you doing up at this time? Get back to bed right now!"
