Claire's Dark Closet was not doing the best financially. They had enough to stave off bankruptcy, but not enough for updated outfits or hiring more staff. And with goth culture not as big as it once was, those financial issues weren't changing anytime soon. It was just luck that there were enough goth groups in the city to keep the lights on, so Claire tried her best to stock clothing for each subculture.
Said financial issues were the only reason Mandy hadn't been fired yet. She hated people, was always rude and confrontational to the customers, yet Claire literally couldn't afford to fire her due to Mandy being her only sales clerk.
It was pretty much another boring day at the store. Mandy was at the register, scrolling her phone and bored out of her mind when she heard the door open. Walking through was another goth woman around her age. Mandy frowned when she saw the woman was a cyber-goth, with her bright green hair in a ponytail, rave clothes, and (Mandy hated this most of all) bright green fishnet stockings and boots. One major thing Mandy noticed was the huge pregnant belly that the neon red shirt and black shorts weren't even trying to hide.
As mentioned, Mandy hated people, but cyber goths especially annoyed her. Clothes too bright, music too loud, always trying to dance with her. It pissed her off to no end. So she tried to ignore the brightly colored woman for now and went back to her phone. That peace lasted until the cyber goth came up to the register.
"Hey, can you tell me where the glowsticks are? Got a rave tonight." The woman said.
"Glowsticks? Yeah. Turn around, leave, go to literally any supermarket, and get your shit there." Mandy replied.
"Hey, could you be a little nicer?" The woman said.
"You know what would be nice? If you weren't here. You're clothes make me want to gouge my eyes out." Mandy said. "And it's impressive you managed to puke in your own hair."
"Not like you're any better. Where'd you come from, a 90's movie?" The woman replied.
"At least I don't blind people when I walk." Mandy snapped back. "And seriously, cover up that gut. No one wants to see that."
"I'm pregnant! You should be-" The woman started to say.
"Pregnant? Then I feel bad that your kids are gonna have you as a mother!" Mandy yelled.
"THAT'S IT!" The woman screamed. She suddenly reached out, put her hand on Mandy's stomach, and snapped her fingers. She then turned to leave.
"Maybe you'll learn not to insult people now!" The woman said before leaving.
"...weirdo." Mandy muttered.
*Flashback end*
------------
"That... the hell did she do to me?!" Mandy screamed as she glared at her bloated belly. Before she could do anything else...
