Chapter #3More student problems by: Tisch Derek walked around the classroom, looking for anyone that needed some guidance. For the most part, the elementary kids were well behaved. They followed along to the instructions Mrs. Caras gave them and were content in doing so. About halfway through the period, as Derek was making another round around the classroom, something came up. A girl, clearly struggling with something, had her hands to her forehead and was pensively sighing in frustration. Derek approached her. The girl had light skin, blonde hair, and blue eyes. She wore light blue jeans and a matching light blue shirt with tennis shoes and low cut socks. "Excuse me," Derek said as he stood by the girl's desk. "What's your name?" The girl took her hands off her head and looked over him. "Whoa, why are you so small?" was her first exclamation. Derek ignored this question and asked again. "I'm Mr. Bates. What's your name? Do you need any help?" The girl, without asking for Derek's consent, grabbed him and put him on her desk. She was a little rough with the small assistant, dropping him with some force. After getting himself up, Derek took a look at the girl's work. She spoke to him as he did so. "My name's Alison. It's nice to meet you, Mr. Bates. Can you help me with this? I don't really understand." What the girl needed was some assistance with reading comprehension. As the class was going over a book, the girl had stumbled over a few sentences and was behind. Derek smoothly and clearly explained the passage, to which the girl easily recovered and was able to catch up from the class.
"Thanks, Mr. Bates!" Alison smiled. Derek grinned back at the blonde girl. "No problem. If you need any more help, be sure to let me know." Derek was about to leave when the girl grabbed him again. This time, she kept a tight handle on him. "Wait, don't go," Alison pouted. Derek tried moving out of the girl's hand, but he couldn't. He grunted as he spoke to her. "What's the problem? Do you need more help with the reading?" Alison shook her head. "No. I just... I don't know, I thought we could play. Like when I go to recess, you can come with me," she said. Derek chuckled. "No, Alison, I can't. I have to stay in here and get some work done. Maybe some other day, though." He finally loosened himself from the girl's strong grip and once again started walking away. Growing anxious as the assistant was leaving her, Alison once again snatched Derek. "Ack! Alison, you need to let me go," Derek spoke firmly. The elementary girl shook her head. "No!" she quietly exclaimed. "You're coming to recess with me. I want to play with you." Suddenly, Alison snuck Derek under her desk. He protested as loudly as he could, but the little girl was sharp enough to cover him in her hand. With her other hand, Alison undid the laces on her left shoe and pulled it off. Her white ankle sock was revealed and she brought it up onto her knee. Peeling off her sock slowly but surely, Alison peered around to make sure no one was watching. Then, as she held her sock open, the little girl opened her hand containing Derek. She dropped him inside the cotton confines of the sock before hastily slipping her foot inside. Having landed with a soft thud at the end of the girl's cloth, Derek looked up in shock as Alison's white foot plunged its way towards him. Despite all of his protesting, it slammed onto him with an unceremonious squish.
*SQUELCH*
"MMMPH!" Derek got a taste of a the girl's slightly sweaty foot. Disgusted, he started wheezing. Alison wiggled her toes around him, getting comfortable. She then slipped her shoe back on and tied it. She soon went back to her work, relieved that she was able to take Derek for herself.
With recess quickly approaching, what happens to Derek? indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
