Chapter #4

In the Shadows

by: Unaccustomed Cucumber Author IconMail Icon
The sweltering sun threatened to boil you alive if you dared step out onto exposed concrete surrounding the pool. Instead, you relied on your small size to weave in and out of beach chairs, some empty but most were occupied. To your relief, the hot ground kept most of the people above from getting up any time soon but you still needed to dodge falling bags of chips, water bottles, and the occasional flip-flop from the sky. You had made it to the last chair in the row when you spotted another lifeguard emerge from the front office. Her strides dwarfed yours but you could tell she would sub out the guard a couple feet before you. Your timing had to be perfect here, too long out in the open and you'd fry like an ant under a magnifying glass. A man following his two children races in front of you, his footsteps shaking the earth and leaving small water droplets in their wake. As soon as his meaty back legs steps forward, you dart out behind him and stay within the relative coolness of his sprawling shadow. The ground still burns your tiny feet, and quickly your veil of protection is slipping away. As fast as you can, you sprint parallel to the lifeguard's footsteps as she turns. Now walking perpendicular to you, her smaller shadow stills, allowing you to cross unharmed. The whole endeavor lasts about 5 minutes but now you stand at the feet of a lifeguard on duty.

Even with the powerful glare of the sun, you can tell this girl is a high schooler working what's likely a very profitable summer job. her blonde hair is tied up in a neat ponytail and she is relatively dry save for the small beads of sweat forming everywhere on her skin. It was frankly disgusting seeing a human body from your new size. Her gigantic feet remained still as her upper body swayed left and right as she observed the swimmers in her view. You were useless down her, getting her attention would require climbing her body, sweaty as it may be, but a lifeguard was surely the best option for you. I mean, they HAVE to protect you right?

Approaching her big toe, you hoist yourself up onto the slick skin. You're too small to be detected down here but luckily, the small nubs of recently shaved hairs along her leg would be perfect hand holds for your journey. You scramble up to the top of her foot, you can see a dark vein below you as you walk, the sound of rushing blood lightly vibrates the skin with every step you take. The rest of your climb is a mixture of scaling hairs and dodging falling beads of sweat like you were in an old arcade game. You had made it just above her knee when the entire leg began to move. A death grip on the skin in front of you, you ride the leg as she makes her way over to a new station. A massive white tower looms over the both of you, meant for observing the largest area of the pool, the lifeguard had to climb a small ladder just to get in her seat. You look out in awe at the vast expanse of people of front of you, it was quite the view from here. Speaking of which, you turn around to the sight of two fleshy thighs and the lifeguards building-sized crotch planted behind them. It's probably as good an opportunity as any to finally get her attention, but you also had the option of climbing the rest of her body...

You have the following choices:

*Noteb*

*Noteb*
