"You have to admit, they're really cute like this," Fuuka hummed. She watched with a small smile at the sleeping twins, no older than three. There was just something about the way that the two held onto each other, even while asleep, that she couldn't resist watching.
"'Cute' doesn't get us deeper into Tartarus," Mitsuru responded darkly.
"I dunno, it managed to get me this far," Junpei joked, earning an annoyed glance from the two girls. "Seriously, though, we got through a month's worth of floors in like a day, so it's not like this is much of a setback."
"Our leaders are babies and Stupei is the voice of reason," Yukari mumbled under her breath. "Maybe I'm just having a weird dream."
"Hey!"
"Speaking of dreams, it is late," Aigis mentioned. "I suggest everyone head to bed as soon as possible."
"Don't need to tell me twice," Junpei answered, already shuffling off towards the stairs. "Looks like Ken's already knocking out."
"I'm not," Ken protested sleepily, but nonetheless following Junpei up the stairs.
Akihiko followed suit, mentioning something about a boxing practice in the morning. Then Fuuka left under the excuse that she was going to visit her parents that morning like she did every other Sunday. Yukari looked to the twins, then back at Mitsuru. "Not it!" she yelped childishly before darting up the stairs herself.
That left Mitsuru and Aigis. Mitsuru pinched the bridge of her nose, realizing that at least for tonight, the Yuki-siblings were entrusted to her care. She sighed, "Aigis, could you help me bring them to my room?"
Aigis nodded.
It took a bit of setup, but Mitsuru, with Aigis' help, managed to make a makeshift crib for the tiny twins by pushing the two couches in her room together and layering some blankets and pillows borrowed from each of twins' dormrooms. Mitsuru admired her handiwork, watching on with a subtle smile as a tiny Kotone nestled tighter into her brother. As much as she didn't want to admit it, the two were, in fact, adorable.
"Thank you, Aigis," Mitsuru hummed, gesturing to the door. "You may go now."
"I will not," Aigis answered back. "I will be watching over Makoto-san and Kotone-san for the night."
Mitsuru was too tired to protest and made her way over to her own bed.
The next morning, Mitsuru woke up before the twins and just stood their, watching until they began to stir. Shortly after, she realized...
