Peridot knew that if Yellow Pearl was to truly be here 'equal,' she would need to have her undergo the save transformation that she went through.
"Ohhh... I like the sound of that." Purred Yellow Pearl.
"The way I got turned into a Diamond was a bit of an accident, but I'm sure you'll be fine." Peridot said. While she had gone through the transformation just fine, she was a little worried that Yellow Pearl wouldn't.
"Come then." Yellow Pearl said, gently grabbing Peridots hand. "Destiny awaits."
"Of- of course my Pearl." Stammered Peridot. She hadn't just said 'my Pearl' had she?
Yellow Pearl blushed ever so slightly. "You don't have to call me 'my Pearl,' darling. We're in this together."
And with that, the two lovers descended downwards towards the warp pad.
-----
Peridot made her way back into the facility where she had found the strange gem, with Yellow Pearl in tow. Peridot had kept her eyes glued to her the whole trip, not because she thought Yellow Pearl was suspicious or anything, but because of how attractive she found her. For a gem who had spent a millennia glued to the side of the Gem empires most ruthless leader, Yellow Pearl had displayed incredible speed and dexterity, with her long legs being stronger than Peridot had anticipated. It wasn't anything to write home about, but it did surprise Peridot. It didn't help though that Yellow Pearl moved in such a way that had kept Peridot a little aroused the whole trip.
Finally, they entered the room with the mysterious gem. "Not exactly the humans finest work, is it?" Yellow Pearl said, mockingly. Peridot let out a snort, in response. It seemed great minds did think alike.
Unlike Peridots first foray into the building, Yellow Pearl was able to provide a strong steady light source with her gem, and this allowed Peridot to find the switch that had started the mysterious gem earlier. "That gem is what made me a Diamond." She said, pointing to the middle of the room, Yellow Pearl looking on smugly.
"Well, lets get this started." She said. Peridot turned back to the switch and flipped it, and soon the gem began to resonate again. The hum of the gem grew louder and louder, until Yellow Pearl began to feel her form begin the distort. "Don't worry, this is nor-." Suddenly, Yellow Pearl poofed, her gem falling to the floor of the now pitch black room.
"I should have foreseen this..." Groaned Peridot. Without Yellow Pearl to light up the room, and with the machinery now totaled, all Peridot could do was sit in the dark until her partner reformed.
-----
Peridot twiddled her thumbs as she waited patiently for Yellow Pearl to reform. She should have known it would take a while, Pearl often reformed after at least a weeks time, and no sooner.
Suddenly, Peridot heard the noise of her partner reforming, and called out to her. "Did it work, Yellow?" No reply. Peridot was about to call again when she saw two bright yellow dots appear from within the darkness. Peridot didn't know what to make of them. Suddenly, she was blinded by a flash of light. Shielding herself from the light, she made her way over to the source. Feeling her way blindly, she put her hand out in front, only for her to feel the distinct shape of a Pearls nose.
"Glad to see me?" She chuckled. Peridot couldn't exactly say yes to that, as she still couldn't see anything with how bright the light was.
Yellow Pearl then pulled a cable out from her gem, before making her way towards one of the industrial lights in the room. Peridot, still blind as a bat, grumbled miserably. She was a Diamond, surely she deserved better than this.
Suddenly, the industrial lights began to light up, and Peridot could finally see again. She turned to Yellow Pearl, taking in the changes to her appearance. Similar to Peridot, only her gem and hair had changed at all. Her hair at become... Sharper, while her gemstone had changed from its original oval shape to that of a four sided diamond, similar to the coloured symbol that gems wore to distinguish which Diamond they served. But aside from that, Yellow Pearl seemed to have changed very little, at least physically.
"I must admit..." Yellow Pearl stated, looking over herself. "I do feel a lot more... Powerful." She glanced back at Peridot. "How about we give this body a test drive, hmmm?"
Peridot blushed. "We- well..." She stammered. While she wanted to see how Yellow Pearls body would react, she also knew that it was only a matter of time before the other gems went looking for Peridot. She had been gone for a few hours and she was supposed to have returned by dusk, which by that point had come and gone.
What does she do?
