“*pshht* Address is 8008 Hera Drive. Witness says they saw a figure pry open a window with a crowbar. Proceed with caution. *pssht*” The radio blared. Stan knew Izzy wasn’t going to do her due diligence and look up up info about the address. So, he extended his chair to their computer. Even though they were speeding it would take a minute to actually get there, plenty of time to see what they’re in for.
The address belonged to one Olive Connelly and her husband Dr. Harrison Connelly. Bought one year ago, it was a two bedroom one bathroom single story house with a basement. This could be simple, not a lot of places for the thief to hide, but why rob a small house in a middle income neighborhood?
Izzy flipped off the siren and lights at a safe distance as to not alert the perp. For how lazy she was, Izzy had the intuition of catching a criminal in her blood which is probably why she found it so uninteresting, it’s old news to her. Stan hopped on her shoulder from the chair and rode along to the simple brick and plastic siding house. The sun was setting and the inside was dark. Bold move for a thief to rob this place before nightfall.
“Alright Izzy, maybe we shou-“ His sentence was cut off by his partner kicking the door in leaving it hanging on one of it’s hinges. “POLICE!” Izzy shouted, no response. “Alright, I’m doing my own thing.” Stan said hopping down, using her butt like a landing pad then hit the floor.
She knew this was for the best and opened up the basement and charged down into it. Stan picked up the pace in a sort of jog checking the apartment. It was really quiet, no breathing or movement. He noticed a library that took up a large portion of what seemed to be their guest bedroom that had been turned into an office of some kind complete with “Tiny Tech” products to assist a Tiny in reading and maneuvering books. It was untouched. Next was the bedroom, something unnerved him about it.
He entered into the room of a modest queen sized bed with disheveled blankets and a freshly inflating indentation, someone had gotten up recently. He walked forward carefully, thankfully he was built for stealth. There’s little chance of making a floorboard creak when it is larger than you.
Suddenly, the closet doors sprung open and something large was inside of it! Stan flipped around determined to use what little authority he had to scream for his intruder to get on the ground. To his disappointment though, all he saw was the groves of the bottom of a shoe. Who’s foot was it?
