It was Aiden.
Yes, it was definitely your nephew you'd promised to spend the day with. Fitting you were going to see him by using the app his mother had helped create. Tiny Travels was a miracle of modern transportation for affected like yourself. Sometimes technology amazed you with its progress, as the self-driving tiny cars and self-flying drones turned a trip down the block, something that could've been an exodus of biblical proportions to an affected with no car of their own twenty years ago, into something accomplished as easily as plugging your address into a phone.
The fact that you got rides free of charge was just the icing on the cake.
Thank god for nepotism, you thought as a red RC car zoomed up the walkway to your front door, and came to a smooth stop just before it would've collided with your front porch.
Though you couldn't control where the RC car would take you, you still sat behind the immovable wheel on the driver's seat, enjoying the illusion of driving yourself. The car was waiting for you to put in your destination on your phone, but you were still having difficulty bringing it to mind.
Yes, you were going to see Aiden, but why?
Piper had definitely asked you to accompany him on a tour through the home branch of Small Wonders. Given the Fair Tiny Treatment Foundation frequently partnered with Small Wonders, arranging the meeting hadn't been difficult for your sister, but ironically it was FTTF business that would be keeping her and Piper too busy to actually take Aiden themselves on the tour. Luckily, you were well-acquainted with the people there and going to Small Wonders would be as big a treat for you as it would be for Aiden.
You knew the tour would be conducted by Mackenzie, the branch head herself, and Tina, one of its product testers. You knew both of them, and while Mackenzie was one of the most brilliant minds in the world, she was also unfortunately one of the most oblivious regarding tinies, which was why you suspected Tina was co-leading the tour. Since the tour would be made up of both affected and unaffected, the trip would definitely help Aiden both in learning more about engineering as well as getting experience in socializing.
But was the tour today? Or was it something else?
Jenna had mentioned being concerned over Aiden having a crush on an unaffected girl at Weston. For most people, a mother expressing concern towards her son entering the dating scene would be worthy of an eye roll but at Weston it was warranted. Aiden had never dated anyone, let alone someone who was a literal giantess to him. And given the abusive environment Dean Penelope fostered among unaffected towards their affected classmates, Aiden crushing on the wrong girl could end with him being permanently crushed by her. Though you thought Piper could explain how to romance a giant woman as well as you could, apparently Aiden would rather hear it from a male role model than one of his moms.
You vaguely remembered proposing meeting Aiden at a coffee shop popular among Weston students. It was one of the few places affected could go without fear as the manager had a zero tolerance policy for tiny abuse in her business, making it a neutral ground between affected and unaffected students. This would also make it a good place for a hypothetical first date between himself and his unaffected crush.
Was that what you were doing today though? Or was it something completely different that had somehow slipped your mind?
This slip in memory was seriously getting embarrassing.
Damn it, what was it?!
You noticed today's date on your phone and everything clicked into place. You remembered you were going to...
1) It was the Small Wonders tour, after all!
2) It was to meet about dating advice!
3, 4 & 5) None of the above!
