A being comes to greet you, offering guidance

As you continued to walk through the silent forest, heavy with a dense fog, you started to hear something for the first time since you got lost in this creepy place... the sound of something approaching you.

You slow down a bit to listen closer to the new sound, and heard it getting louder up ahead of you, looking closer, you began to notice a silhouette forming in the fog as whatever else was out here was about to cross your path.

Before you could make a decision to either run or hide, or make a call to the figure, they finally step out of the fog and revealed themselves to be something... odd.

They wore a black cloak covering their large figure, making it hard to tell what they were until they reached up and pulled back their hood, revealing their face and seemed to greet you with an oddly welcoming look, saying hello and offers you assistance since it seemed you were lost in the forest.

Before continuing on, who are you, and what gender did your "Guide" seem to be?
